WHAT LIES BETWEEN FLESH AND BLOOD – 2 | 2009

C PRINT + DIASEC | 71 x 80.5 INCHES

Known, familiar and admired work of abstract art is represented as an assemblage of skin and flesh pixels, collected and placed as if in colour charts.  The tiny square, derived from the detail of skin if on the one hand traces pornographic material, at the same instance signify wounds – both presented through media for contradictory purposes. The work echoes and invokes the practice of mixing opposites, like sensuous and sentimental matters, which, found in private, yet in its modified versions, are offered in public space for daily consumption of silent majority.
