IDENTICAL VIEWS II | 2004

C PRINT + DIASEC, 30 X 30 INCHES

Along with traces of Rana’s earlier grid paintings, other recurring elements such as ‘mirror images and ‘seemingly’ abstract/non-objective art also present the duplicity of an image, captured in a movement of intimate moments reflecting how our contemporary world is made of contradictions. The sequence of images is repeated in two sides/halves of the work, but with a perceptible variation in the two views; alluding to how different versions of reality appear identical but are contradictory in truth.
