WHEN HE SAID I SO HE DID NOT SAY WHAT HE DID? | 2004

C PRINT + DIASEC | 120 X 46.5 INCHES

Political conflicts are translated in this work, constructed through the manipulation of a familiar image. Based upon a colour print of a cinema star, pictures of this sort are normally seen as symbols of power, masculinity and political/technological superiority, associated with the West.  Images from the media show the war on terror in Afghanistan and Iraq, with soldiers, military planes, injured people and dead bodies formulating the popular figure from Hollywood action movies. This emphasizes how the reality is transmitted but still made up of minor deviations and illusions.
